1/26/2014, 1/7/2015, 8/27/2017, 8/26/2020, 12/27/2020, 1/19/2022, 1/19/2024, 1/22/2025 Dear EE457 students, In this directory (https://viterbi-web.usc.edu/~ee457lab/) you find files such as puvvada_lab1_part1_compared_results_FILE1_congratulations.txt See the example file if the above file is not yet present: example_puvvada_lab1_part1_compared_results_FILE1_congratulations.txt Such files contain congratulations messages, one for each successful submission. It also shows the names.txt submitted so that the partner also gets to know that he/she was included in the names.txt An example names.txt Tommy Trojan Ben Bruin Some of the lab assignments are INDIVIDUAL-effort type. Even if it is a TEAM-effort type, some students may choose to work alone. In both these cases, the file name shall still be "names.txt" with a "s" in "names". An example such names.txt will have only one name Tommy Trojan These congratulations.txt files show the date (on the top of the file) and time when the file was produced (i.e. when the lab grading script was run to produce the file) at the beginning of the file. So, if you submitted after that date and time, you need to wait for about 6 hours for the grading script to run again and update this file. We normally start running the grading scripts about 3 days before the due date to 3 days after the due date. During that period, we usually run the script once every 6 hours 8 AM, 2 PM, 8 PM, and 2 AM. When you submit the files, it may take as much as 1 hour for your files to appear in our submit directory. Do not worry -- they appear with the original submission time and date. So, if you submitted at least 1 hour before the time and date of the congratulations file (like at 7:00 AM or before for the 8:00 AM run), and if your name does not appear in the congratulations file, probably your submission/code has errors. Wait for an hour (9 AM in our example) to see if you received an email (stating errors found) from the ee457lab@usc.edu. And, if you do not receive such email even after 1 hour after the congratulations file is posted, please email to your CPs and me (and not to ee457lab@usc.edu) inquiring about your submission. The "from" address of the error email is ee457lab@usc.edu. But please do not reply to this email. Email the CPs, if needed. When you submit via your Unix account (either from viterbi-scf1.usc.edu or viterbi-scf2.usc.edu), the system responds with a SUCCESS message. Please take a screenshot and hold it as your proof of submission until you know that we have received it. Cheers Gandhi and your TAs/lab graders
